Kumho patenting tyre use of nano-material

Researchers at the Kumho European Technical Centre in Birmingham, UK, are upbeat about a new nano-material they have assessed in tyre tread compounds.

Kumho's work indicates that the material, POSS-polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane-will be valuable in adjusting tread properties and have applied for UK patent protection for tyre use of the material.
