Rubber Industries has designed processes for these small tonnage presses that are ideal for small to medium size parts, which are price sensitive, affected by time-to-market, candidates for near-future modification or elimination, and have special mechanical requirements.
Using 10.5 by 12in platens, the Rubber Industries systems have a 100cm3 shot capacity and are very flexible in handling small to larger quantities, unlike larger tonnage presses dedicated to long runs requiring larger and more costly moulds.
An additional benefit is that Rubber Industries can engineer the tooling and material used for prototyping similar to what is used in final production, minimising final part variations.
The reason is that injection moulding prototype tooling can be produced using the same process as production tooling.
Standard or special elastomer formulations are available for these part projects.
