Sigma Vibracoustic Started its operations in 1999 as Sigma Phoenix ( a 50:50 JV between Sigma Corporation, Delhi and Phoenix AG, Germany). It had an asset base of Rs 18 crore (4 Mio Euros), 80 employees and a whole time Technical Director from Phoenix.
In 2001, Phoenix and Freudenberg, market leaders in NVH parts, merged their anti-vibration divisions and formed a company called Vibracoustic – its only business was anti-vibration parts and had a worldwide sales of Euros 750 Mio Euros in 2001.
In line with the merger, Sigma Phoenix was renamed as Sigma Vibraocoustic India Private Limited on 1st of April 2001.
